Cynthia Giles has an M.A. from the University of Dallas, and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas. She was managing editor of Spring Publications, as well as editor-in-chief of Saybrook Publishers, and is the author of several trade non-fiction books. From 1995 through 2007, she worked as a consultant in information technology and corporate communications for PepsiCo, Southwest Airlines, La Quinta, First American, and other major corporations. Her subject matter specializations included data warehousing strategy; business intelligence and reporting; marketing and CRM.
